Our story
2021
May 2021: Signed a lease on a space in an empty warehouse in Milwaukee’s 30th Street Corridor.
Fall 2021: Completed construction on the first farm! Despite countless issues acquiring construction materials for the build (unprecedented times!), we completed our state-of-the-art, American-made grow system 3 months ahead of schedule.
November 2021: Community members were invited to attend our soft opening, in collaboration with Midwest Foods.
2022
January 2022: Partnered with Milwaukee School of Engineering, Building2Learn, Milwaukee Public Schools, and 30th Street Corridor to create an educational curriculum for students and young adults interested in pursuing careers in agriculture-technology.
First harvest! As proof of our commitment to fighting food insecurity, we donated 100% of the first harvest to Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin. That’s over 500 nutritious meals that immediately went back to the Milwaukee community.
March 2022: Received sponsorship from General Electric Current Lighting for top-of-the-line horticultural lights.
April 2022: Partnered with University of Chicago to create our Workforce Development Program.
Spring 2022: Brian Kramp from FOX6 Milwaukee hosted a 6-part series showing a deep-dive into the “endless summer” that exists at Hundred Acre.
Summer 2022: Tried, learned, improved! Growing conditions and labor practices were dialed in, leading to an even more efficient harvest cycle. Expanded our partnership network to include Wisconsin Food Hub, Sedexo, and Sendik’s. Forged new relationships with educational food distributors, allowing us to be included on menus at Marquette University, MSOE, and Milwaukee Public Schools.
Fall 2022: Awarded grants from the US Department of Agriculture and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, recognizing our supply-chain resilience and ability to provide fresh products year-round.
Winter 2022: Launched our first direct-to-school partnership with the Trans Center for Youth and Esceula Verde, in which we co-develop an 8-week Edible Learning curriculum providing students with hands-on agricultural education and locally-grown products to sell at their Newline Cafe.

Winter 2022: Teamed up with FreshChef Meal Prep to launch a new product: Pesto with Purpose.
In addition to being delicious, a portion of each pesto purchase goes towards Feeding America of SE Wisconsin to support their efforts combatting food insecurity in our city.

2023
January 2023: Began supplying K-12 schools across southeast Wisconsin through the Wisconsin Food Hub Coop.
February 2023: Debuted our Grow With Us media production platform.
March 2023: Hosted our first fundraiser with Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin, which marked the first event in the Hundred Acre event space. Attendees sampled food by award-winning local chefs featuring Hundred Acre greens, served to them by Edible Learning students. A beautiful showcase of our local collaborations.
Spring 2023: For the first time, demand officially surpasses supply — a huge tipping point for the business.
Hundred Acre products launch in GoGrocer locations across the city, and in several concession areas at the Milwaukee Brewer’s American Family Field.
April 2023: Launched our first line of retail products in Outpost Natural Foods, enabling us to reach our end customers directly.

Winter 2023: Additional full-time farm technicians and crew members are hired on to keep up with increasing demand.
2024
January 2024: Hundred Acre hosts the second annual Feeding America FARM, FOOD, FUNdraiser event at the farm, sponsored by Wealthspire Advisors.
Winter/Spring 2024: Community engagements galore!
Founder Chris Corkery is a guest speaker for CreativeMornings/Milwaukee , the Marquette Law School, the Women’s Club of Wisconsin , an OnMilwaukee book signing event with local food writer Lori Fredrich, the Experience Milwaukee podcast, Focal Point podcast,
Hundred Acre hosts a Local Food Purchase Assistance Program event alongside Marbleseed, Wisconsin Farmers Union, and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.
Our partner roster grows to include the Milwaukee Athletic Club, Five O’Clock Steakhouse, and Wantable Cafe.
Summer 2024: Business continues to grow! Leadership team is expanded to include an Advisory Board, and roles managing Operations and Marketing. As demand continues to outpace supply, we begin to lay plans for a second farm location.
Fall 2024: Hundred Acre donated a record-breaking amount of product to Feeding America — nearly 3,000 servings of leafy greens — to be distributed across Milwaukee, Dodge, Ozaukee, and Waukesha counties to food insecure families.
Fall 2024: Hosted our first Tours and Tasting event as a part of Doors Open Milwaukee, organized by Historic Milwaukee. Tickets sell out and a waitlist forms of nearly 100 people!
Hundred Acre sponsors the 2024 Milwaukee Public Market Harvest Festival.
November 2024: Hundred Acre launches into Kroger, Metro Market and Pick N Save stores across Milwaukee!
This partnership marked the beginning of a new chapter in Hundred Acre’s growth, allowing us to sample, promote and sell our products directly to our end-customers.
2025
March 2025: Founder and CEO Chris Corkery is named one of 30 People Shaping Milwaukee by the Biz Times.
Hundred Acre products launch into 40+ Festival Foods locations statewide!
Spring 2025: Media interviews with FOX6 News, WTMJ Radio, Milwaukee Mag and Radio Milwaukee. See the latest media mentions here.
April 2025: Hundred Acre collaborated with Third Space Brewing for a limited release Basil Blueberry Seltzer!
June 2025: The International Public Market Conference is hosted in Milwaukee, and attendees are given tours of our farm.
